Our Story
Dabney Farms began long before we ever planted our first garden or gathered our first dozen eggs. Its roots stretch back to a small farm in Kentucky where James spent countless childhood days with his great-grandfather—running through fields, exploring fence lines, and learning the quiet lessons of land, work, and family. Those early memories never left him.
Through years of moving with the Air Force and living in cities, the dream of returning to wide-open space only grew stronger. In 2020, that dream started taking shape when James began keeping bees as a hobby. The bees sparked something bigger—a desire to build a life guided by heritage, nature, and the rhythm of the seasons.
After James met Sarah, everything finally lined up. Together, they found the perfect property, and in November 2021, Dabney Farms became a reality.
Today, the farm is a true family effort.
Sarah brings warmth and creativity to daily life here—caring for the chickens, testing new ideas in the garden, and embracing the freedom to grow, experiment, and cultivate beauty.
The kids, Adison and Griffin, are part of every season. They collect eggs, help choose what goes into the garden, bottle honey, and proudly introduce their city friends to “their little piece of country life.” Naming the animals has become a tradition all on its own.
At its heart, Dabney Farms is built on values we live by:
Sustainability, family tradition, hard work, faith, community, quality over quantity, transparency, and honoring our heritage.
We believe in knowing where our food comes from.
We believe in raising animals with respect and care.
We believe in becoming more self-sufficient—not to prepare for the worst, but to be grounded in what’s real, honest, and ours to steward.
Every product we share—our free-range eggs, our raw local honey, and the growing list of goods from our land—is made with purpose. It’s food we trust, from a farm we love, and a life we’re proud to build.
Our long-term vision is simple:
To expand what we grow, to share family recipes and traditions, and to build something lasting for our children. Dabney Farms is more than a homestead—it’s a legacy in the making.
Thank you for being part of our journey.
We’re glad you’re here.
